Gathering Patient Consent Using the Flu Injection Module

This topic is not applicable to Rexall pharmacies.

This section is not applicable to Manitoba and Saskatchewan pharmacies. Flu injection consent cannot be documented electronically in Propel Rx for these provinces. However, a flu injection consent form can be pre-printed.

Consent for a flu injection can be completed on a workstation or an iPad, and can be gathered for the following:

  • An existing patient

  • A new patient

  • Copying an existing patient from the same family

When completed, the flu injection consent form is automatically attached to the prescription and can be viewed at a later time from the Patient Profile tab.

If a flu injection prescription is not completed within 48 hours of gathering consent, the patient consent will be deleted. If you need to process a flu injection prescription after 48 hours, you must gather patient consent again.
